Ramon was born on June 20,1954. (Y.G. was born 12th April, 1961) Grew up in Tel Aviv , Israel  (Y.G. Grew up in Russia) . In 1972, Ramon graduated from high school and in 1987, during a long and highly distinguished career in the Israeli Air Force, he received his bachelor of science degree in electronics and computer engineering from Tel Aviv University. In 1974, Ramon graduated as a fighter pilot from the Israel Air ForceFlight School.   From 1974-1976, he participated in A-4 Basic Training and Operations and from 1976-1980 he took part in Mirage III-C training and operations.
